It is now the time to speed up your website and change from a turtle to a fast rabbit!

The load speed decreases (example: goes from 2seconds to 1 second) and this results to the web page speed increasing. This is the primary goal of a web designer. A website may be very artistically unique when designed, but if it loads too slow it can be labeled as worthless. Not may people have the time or capacity to wait for a web page to load. The main reason would be because of all of the options out there. Google provides a viewer thousands and millions of websites that have ultimately the same or alike information. The web viewer is most likely to search a term and click on the top results for that searched term, if one page loads too slow they will automatically go back to the search page and click to the next page offering the same type of result. Another reason that a web page isn’t preferred to be slow is for SEO. Slow website are often frowned upon by google and result in lower results in the search engines. There are a couple of things every web developer can do to speed up their website. Follow along with the list below and make sure to make all of these things a habit on your next design.

How to Speed Up your Web Design in 8 Ways

1- Compress the CSS!

Compressing your CSS can reduce those extra kbs that are just adding up on your website.

2-Compress your Images!

Compressing your image(s) will allow you to use the same dimension size in a photo, but have it in a small size. This is one of the most important things to do on a website. Being that websites have images ( most likely professional images), they take up a lot of space unknowingly. Add up how much space your images take on your website. Making your site as light as you can is the ultimate goal.  Using css instead of images when ever possible is always recommended. For example: You can easily change your sites back

background color to Black instead of adding a heavy black image to your websites background. That is one great example that you can easily navigate around.

3-Too Many Images.

Too many images on a website can create a flood. The lower number of requests a website has when opening up in a browser, the better. Its preferred to add your images tastefully on your website.

4-Flash.

Are you still using flash? Although flash can do pretty cool effects, it is known to be very very heavy. Its best to not use any flash on a website and instead use Javascript as a replacement.

5- Javascript.

Javascript is a good way to bring cool effects into your website in a light weight format. The one thing to avoid when using javascript is using too much of it. Even light weight  scripts are known contribute a little weight to your website. So use only effects that you need and don’t overdo adding javascript files into your website and resulting it to become heavy again.

6- Enable Cache.

Enable Cache will be one of the greatest things you can do to reduce your web load time.

7- Remove those Pingbacks!

Disable the option of ping backs to your website.

8- Extra CSS and files.

Remove any lines from your CSS stylesheet that your website does not use.
